Iris Apfel & Zenni's Eyewear Collection: A Perspective

Let me first start by saying that, I have always been fascinated with Iris Apfel. Her life has been incredible from starting her own company Old World Weavers with her beloved husband Carl that provided textiles to the White House for nine presidents, being courted by mega brands to be their style ambassador, having her own Barbie, her own book and documentary, she has truly lived a life of creativity and exuberance. As an individual and as the Creative Director of Oxford and Rose, when I first saw her years ago, I said to myself, "Marie, this woman is amazing!! Like so many other women who feel the same way I do ,she has always been the motivation to try new things if I feel like I am heading into a style rut. It has truly always brought me a great sense of joy to see what creative collaborations Iris has been a part of and there is now yet another one to celebrate. On May 5, 2021 her new partnership with eyeglass store Zenni was announced as a part of her 100th birthday celebrations in 2021. The collection's campaign shot by fashion photographer Ruven Afanador features a collection of 100 glasses and features price points from $16.95 – $45.95. Zenni is an optical retailer based in California and the brand is also the proud eyewear sponsor of several U.S sports teams. If there is one thing that I can say about this collaboration is that it has come at just the right time. Since we have been in the global pandemic many people have struggled to get excited about fashion again and this collection proves that its finally time to wear your joy. The line is also affordable which is a super bonus. The aptly named Iris Apfel Edit has 5 collections which includes Live Colorfully, Bazaar Treasures, Signature Style, Structural and Iris for Kids, the children's line. If you truly want to wear your joy this signature collection is perfect for you. Have fun everyone!
